Privacy Policy for YouTube Video Playlist Transcript Downloader

This policy explains how the YouTube Video Playlist Transcript Downloader Chrome extension handles information. It applies only to this extension, not to other 🤌 At Hand Tools products or studio inquiries.

Information the extension handles

When you choose a public YouTube video, playlist, or channel, the extension reads the available caption data and related public page information needed to prepare your download. It processes this material in your browser and saves the resulting file only where you choose. 🤌 At Hand Tools does not receive, store, or operate a transcript service for your caption text, downloaded files, video URLs, titles, account information, or YouTube cookies.

Local storage and downloads

The extension stores your export settings, a local error-report throttle, and a random installation identifier in Chrome local storage. This identifier is specific to this extension installation and is not linked to a 🤌 At Hand Tools account or another 🤌 At Hand Tools product. You control downloaded files through your browser and device. Removing the extension or its Chrome site data removes its local storage.

Reliability reporting

The extension sends sanitized operational error reports and two aggregate metrics to 🤌 At Hand Tools’s Sentry project: an observed daily active installation and a successfully downloaded transcript file. Those reports contain the extension version, a coarse feature or error category, product and surface identifiers, and the random installation identifier. They do not include transcript text, downloaded files, video URLs, video titles, account data, cookies, or a cross-product identifier. Reporting is best-effort and never blocks a download.

Third parties and network information

Your browser sends caption requests directly to YouTube. Sentry processes the reliability reports described above for 🤌 At Hand Tools. Like other internet services, Sentry may receive standard network information, including your IP address, when your browser sends a report. Sentry’s handling of that information is governed by its privacy policy.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Public YouTube content is used only to provide and improve the transcript-download feature. It is not sold or used for advertising. 🤌 At Hand Tools transfers only the limited reliability information described in this policy to Sentry; it does not transfer transcript content or other YouTube page content to third parties.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the extension or its data practices change. The date above shows when it was last revised.
